Background
LandPeople is a sole proprietorship led by Bruce Randolph “Randy” Anderson, California Licensed Landscape Architect, and Certified Planner. Founded in 2000, LandPeople has become established as a premiere firm in open space, trails, parks and protecting or enhancing the built environment. Our Benicia location allows efficient access to sites throughout northern California and helps us maintain low overhead, so we can devote more time to our projects.

Protecting and Enhancing the Environment
Our projects share a common “green” theme of protecting or enhancing valued environmental and community resources, preventing or mitigating suburban sprawl, and providing alternatives to the automobile for transportation and recreation.

Working with People
Our name underscores our commitment to work closely with people to create feasible, sustainable land plans. Randy Anderson brings many years of training and experience in public outreach and participation for park, trail, open space and community enhancement projects. Our approach is to integrate public participation seamlessly into a “transparent” planning process.

Developing Vision and Strategy
We help clients focus their “big picture” goals and identify the best means and methods to achieve them. Randy Anderson’s decades of experience managing major public projects and programs enable him to understand and help address political, administrative, public relations, environmental and technical challenges.

Resolving Complexity
Green space isn’t simple any more – even basic protection, access, restoration and improvements require extensive study, planning, design, review, and approval processes. LandPeople typically coordinates multi-disciplined consultant teams to address all the issues and steps required for project implementation, such as:

  • Surveying and mapping
  • Civil and structural engineering
  • Geologic and geotechnical engineering
  • Traffic engineering and transportation planning
  • Biological resource studies
  • Cultural and historical resource studies
  • Environmental documentation for CEQA or NEPA
  • Permit applications and processing for planning, building, and environmental approval

Staff
Our close-knit team collaborates with clients and their partners to make efficient use of knowledge and skills to address interests and needs.
